My pc hangs while surfing the net..plz help?

i have an 256 kbps broadband internet connection,apart from the default IE6 browser i have installed 2 another browser Firefox %26amp; safari,the problem with my pc is that while i m browsing the net ,when i click on some link the system just hangs(this usually happens while surfing using firefox ) and i have 2 reboot it thru the reset button on the cpu.. plz sort out this issue with my pc...

Not really possible to do with the info you posted. Including a Hijackthis log would help a lot though.





Try scanning for viruses and spyware.
Reply:It could be a symptom of what techies call Windows Rot. The longer you use your computer, the more cluttered things are on the hard disk, and Windows doesn't deal well with clutter, at all. You could try disk defrag's, registry defrag's, and products of the sort, or if you know how / know somebody who can, a fresh installation of Windows. It sounds like it's a software problem, since your hardware specs are top notch for simply browsing the web. Perhaps you're missing necessary drivers for all your hardware, or crucial updates?

or your OS is corrupted, try to reinstall it





or reformat it
