Which statement about thin lenses is correct?

In each case, we are considering only a single lens!!

A) A converging lens sometimes produces a real erect image.

B) A diverging lens always produces a virtual erect image.

C) A converging lens always produces a real inverted image.

D) A diverging lens produces a virtual erect image only if the object is located within the focal point of the lens.

E) A diverging lens always produces a virtual inverted image.

Thanks for any help.

Which statement about thin lenses is correct?
A converging lens (convex) can produce either a real, inverted or a virtual erect image because the parallel rays of light can converge to a point if the object is more than a focal length away, or seem to spread out from the focal point if the object is less than a focal length from the lens.

A diverging lens (concave) always produces a virtual, erect image because parallel rays of light spread out so never meet.

Use these facts to help answer your question.
