Ram??????????
Ok first go as following as shown

Go to Start and right click the my computer and you will get the service provider information
Reply:None of that can tell us what type of RAM you have... you'll have to tell us your computers manufacturer and model name/number......

(p.s. dont forget to activate windows "Activation StatusActivation Pending (29 days remaining)")

lol

If you update your service pack... that still wont tell us what your RAM is....
Reply:Not much differnce from Xp home but theres a little, possible of ddr sdram just pull the stick out of the computer and look on it it will tell you what it is, or go into control panel and system, to check

or try looking in Device Manager to find out what kind it is

hope this helps some
Reply:you only have 31.3 meg yes add some and update to sp2
Reply:Just go here while on the machine and click "scan my system"

you don't have to buy it from them but it will show you what upgrade options are available. You can even print it out and take it to Best Buy or someplace and hopefully, the sales person will show you the ram you need. http://www.crucial.com
Reply:go to http://goldenram.com it will run a utility that will tell you what to buy. It looks like you have 256MB right now. upgrade the OS to SP2. The more ram the better. Look at trying to get 1gig.
Reply:Go here to find out about your computer.

This site says you have DDR RAM, running at 266MHz.

Your system has 2 memory DIMM slots for a total capacity of 2 gigabytes.

You can install PC3200, PC2700, or PC2100 DDR RAM.

If it were me buying the RAM, I would buy PC3200 that runs at 400MHz and is backwards compatible with the PC2100 266MHz that you have now. Mainly because it is more widely used and more computers can run it.

Don't buy from the site I listed, it is to expensive there, but at least it tells you what your computer has.

Remember you need "unbuffered" "non ECC" RAM.
Reply:if your going to buy a memory card or a ram chip you need to know what is the specification of your motherboard and what kind is your old ram chip, and what kind of ram chip does your motherboard use? for example is your old ram chip a ddr, sdram, ddr2 or ddr3? if it is ddr, is it 333, 266 or 400? stuff like that, you can probably look for it in the manual of your motherboard (that is, if you have it) or just try to find out the model of your motherboard and google it and look for the specs. Tell the specs to the salesperson at the store and I'm sure they know what to give you..good luck!
Reply:your service pack need to be updated
Reply:your running an old ibm 2.4ghz p4. you can run a max of 2gb with it, and have 2 ram slots on the board. heres what you want

depending on how much ram you want, 1gb http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...

or 2gb, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...

that will help your computer a lot
Reply:Find your brand name and model number on your PC tower and then write it down then bing it to a cheap computer spechalty store
