Can I upgrade to a dual layer processor, and would it help with video editing?

I am unskilled, but I would like to make DVD's much quicker.

Is upgrading a task I can undertake myself, and if so what should I buy?

I think you are a little confused. there is nothing lika an double layer procesor. there is a core duo.

in acordance with the description you give about your system, I wonder how long does it take to make a dvd in your computer???

maybe you need a much faster dvd burner. 16x is a good one. what's you hard drive size and speed.?? you need to have enough free space to work with video editing.

try changing the dvd burner or your hd or getting rid of some useless files.
Reply:It may be that you need a different program to use with XP.

I have two processors in this machine, two Pentium 4 ,3.2

I do not make movies much but I have noticed that DVD does take longer than VCD by a lot. So I do not know if the processors are that much help or not.

Before I increased the RAM to 2G it was a lot slower.

Ask the dealer where you bought the computer.
Reply:You can only up gpgrade your memory (processor) but it is already at 2gig, now i only have a 1 gig memory in mine and i do video edting for living! so u must be running alot of programmes at onec to slow that down!!
