I cannot get registry edit to open...I have a bunch of viruses but it keeps shutting my scans down on XEsoft?

So I get a list of threats but when its almost done with the scan it has about 133 problems but it causes an error and shuts down...so I tried to edit the registry without letting the program close...because I could still see the file paths for the infected file...but when I go to run and type regedit...it says C:\Progra~1\Symantec\S32EVNT1.DLL. An installable Virtual Device Driver failed DLL initialization......so I click ignore and this pops up.....The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction. CS:0538 IP:fe ff 1d 09 e9....when I hit ignore again it closes....I saw about 55 Zlobs on the computer when I scanned....any suggestions???

Reply:Sounds bad, You could try another antivirus like AVG or an anti spyware like spybot search and destroy. Both free. After you have run them download CCLEANER and give your registry a good clean. I would also run scandisk and set it to recover bad sectors.
