Reply:Your question seems weird. I'll try to help in whatever way i can.


First, the length of the lens doesnt play a big part. Yes they may alter the focal length of a converging lens, but the focal length is still what you should be looking out for. It won't change cos the lens will not lengthen or fatten itself.





A virtual image is one where the image is actually formed behind the object, like in the case of a magnifying glass. This happens ONLY when the object is placed at a distance SHORTER than the focal length from the vertical.


You may want to draw a ray diagram to illustrate this.
