a- virtual
b- real
c- inverted
d- larger than the object
The image formed by a diverging lens of a real object is always which one or more of the following?
The trick for the diverging lens is that you always have to extend the lines backwards. The rays will not meet on the other side to form an image. Extending backwards means a vitual image.
examples.
The ray leaving the object parallel to the main axis diverges in such a way that if you back extend the line it intersects the focal point- this is the focal point on the side of the object!
The ray going through the optical center goes straight through. This ray too can be extended backwards.
